31 girls, most under 14 years old, rescued in South Asia

31 girls no longer have to sell their bodies to survive.

Some of these young girls were forced to sell themselves just to buy food. While the oldest was 17, most were under 14 and the youngest was only 10 years old.

All of the girls have begun the healing process in our community care program, where they will be provided with food, counseling and training to help their families become financially independent so the younger girls can attend school. 23 Children Rescued from Sex Trafficking

Twenty-three girls in South Asia are now free from sexual exploitation.

All the girls were between 14 and 17 years old and have taken their first steps in their new lives by enrolling in Freedom Plans to guide their futures. More on those plans here.

4 Children Rescued From Forced Labor Exploitation

Four girls have been rescued from labor trafficking in Cambodia.

The four girls were between 9 and 12 years old. The kids were subjected to long hours, working in harsh conditions in a brick factory until our undercover agents discovered them. Now, they are enrolled in Freedom Plans to move forward in life and begin recovering from the trauma they endured.

39 People Rescued Throughout Asia

Thirty-nine people were rescued from various types of trafficking across Asia.

Our agents have been busy! In one nation, nine men and women were rescued from international labor trafficking. In Thailand, we worked with law enforcement to rescue eight women and children from sex exploitation. And in Nepal, another 27 people, two-thirds of them children, were rescued by our stalwart border agents. Join us in celebrating their freedom!

3 Boys Rescued from Suspected Organ Traffickers

Three young boys were rescued at the Nepal border before traffickers could get them across.

A 20-year-old trafficker lied to three young friends in an apparent attempt at organ trafficking. The trafficker promised the two 10-year-olds and 7-year-old easy living if they’d just meet him across the border. Fortunately, our border agents stopped them in time and called their parents, who confirmed that the children had snuck away. Our team counselled the families on the dangers of trafficking before the families returned home.

While details are still coming in, early evidence suggests that this might have been a case of attempted organ trafficking.

23 girls between 8 and 16 years old are free from sexual exploitation in Kenya.
