Isaac Rogers sat down with us to share about how he joined Destiny Rescue’s Freedom Fitness initiative—powered by Trifundit—and why he’s passionate about using his miles to help rescue kids.
Meet Isaac
22-year-old Isaac Rogers grew up in Shipshewana, Indiana, and has always enjoyed staying active and playing sports. He was an avid tennis player in high school and played golf in the off-season.
He shared that he started running casually for exercise in college at Ball State University. It wasn’t until his junior year in college, when he studied abroad in Rome, that he really started to get serious about running.
In an effort to meet new people, he joined the Adidas Running Club and was running two days a week across Rome.
He shared that the day after reading an inspiring book by David Goggins—“Can’t Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds”—he ran the furthest he had ever run: 20 miles!
Thus began Isaac’s love for endurance running. He booked his first half-Ironman back in the US for July 2025.
“I decided, if I’m spending all this time on these races, why not make it a series of races and do something crazy in 2025?” Isaac shared.
For 2025, he booked a marathon in April, two sprint triathlons in June, the half Ironman in July and a 50-mile trail ultramarathon in October.
It was time to train.
Why Destiny Rescue
We asked Isaac what led him to Destiny Rescue and Freedom Fitness.
“I scheduled all of these races, and I was feeling kind of empty. I was like, ‘Oh, I’m just going to do these races, and it’s going to be awesome, and then I’m going to get my medal and then… that’s it.’ That didn’t sit well with me… why not carry something along with this to carry more purpose with all the work I’m doing? I wanted to make something happen. I wanted to benefit somebody.”
Isaac shared that he began researching different organizations and ended up interviewing a handful of them. He settled on Destiny Rescue.
He shared that his main driving factor in choosing Destiny Rescue was that his fiancée was taking a college course on human trafficking at the time and sharing everything she was learning with Isaac.
Isaac shared that this new information pulled on him. He had no prior experience or personal connection with the issue, but the new knowledge was flooring to him that actual children are living these horrific realities.
He shared that the other motivating factor was his connection as a “doer”—a desire to support an organization that was working hands-on to advance its mission.
“That’s something I really value about Destiny Rescue. They actually send in the operations to rescue these children. They’re actually putting together plans to get them out.”
Freedom Fitness
It was the perfect pairing: Isaac’s interest in rescuing kids and our launch of a new initiative, Freedom Fitness—a program that allows people of all fitness levels to walk, run, bike, swim or row their way to rescuing kids.
Isaac created his Freedom Fitness profile, connected his fitness app, asked friends and family to sponsor him a mile at a time, and soon all of his tracked training and race miles were transformed into rescue and freedom for children.

Through Isaac’s 2025 training and race miles, he raised $4,700—enough to rescue three children from the horrors of trafficking and equip them to stay free.
What could have been mere training miles resulted in the radical transformation of three children’s lives.

Isaac’s “why”
We asked Isaac how he would describe his personal “why” for doing this.
“I’m running these races, so why not rescue children along the way?”
It’s as simple as that.
Personal impact
We asked Isaac how this experience has personally impacted him and those around him.
For those around him, he shared that he saw many people become motivated to start running. As people saw him do these races at crazy distances as someone who hadn’t done this before, it made people around him say, “I can do that. I can run a 5K. I can run a 10K.”
For Isaac personally, he shared that through the races he “unlocked new levels of his brain.”
He referenced the book mentioned earlier that inspired his first 20-mile run. He shared that what you perceive as your max potential is really only 60% of your actual potential, because your brain limits you so much.
“Doing these races has really expanded my mind to what’s possible for my physical body. Not only that, but what’s possible for my time here on earth. I can make a difference by just going out and putting one foot in front of the other for two hours straight. It’s not that deep, it’s not that hard. There are tools out there to make a difference that don’t require a lot of extra effort. Freedom Fitness is one of them. I’m just glad I can make a difference with it. Another thing that impacts me during my runs is knowing that these miles are directly allocated to rescuing children from horrible situations around the world. It’s crazy that a morning 5K could turn into something like that.”
Advice for others
We asked Isaac what he would say to someone who may not be a super serious athlete but wants to join Freedom Fitness, such as a parent pushing a stroller or someone jogging daily after work.
“Things that happen in the background have crazy benefits in the long run. If you run two miles every other day, that comes out to about a mile a day. In one year, you would have raised $365 if you got $1 per mile per day. That’s $365 for doing nothing extra. One donor, one dollar, one mile, every day, for one year. Two years? You’re over $700… you’re making a difference somewhere else in the world… it’s just using what’s already there!”
For anyone considering joining Freedom Fitness, his encouragement is to simply make an account, and then invite one loved one to donate 10 cents per mile and see where that goes after a couple of weeks. And then add one other person to your giving list, and then another.
Isaac plans to continue his legacy of freedom through fitness.
He has a lot of exciting changes coming this summer as he gets to marry his beautiful fiancée, Kaylyn, who initially inspired this incredible journey of rescue.
Isaac continues to operate his photography and videography business (irogmedia.com), trains and runs when he can and is excited for what the future holds.
