Overseas Team Trips

Interested in Destiny Rescue's work overseas, but not quite sure if a long term commitment is right for you? Then check out Short Term Mission Trips. They’re short, life-changing and educational.

Destiny Rescue invites you to come catch the vision of our work in Cambodia and Thailand! Learn about the evil of child sex trafficking—and see the ways Destiny Rescue is working to restore children’s lives.

On a Team Trip, you’ll have the chance to meet and share your story with rescued girls. You’ll get to know the volunteers and staff who are fighting to end child sex trafficking. You’ll visit a red light district and see the environment we’re rescuing girls from. You’ll experience major cultural sites; eat delicious Thai and Cambodian foods; and travel across both countries. This is a truly life-changing trip!

A Team Trip is more than just a two-week adventure. We want to inspire and empower you to make a difference long-term. This trip is a chance for you to gain a deep understanding of the issues surrounding child sex trafficking—and what you can do to end it! When you return home, you’ll be armed with the education and passion to continue working to end child exploitation. Your stories could even inspire your family, friends, church and coworkers to join the cause.

Week 1 Itinerary

  • You will begin your Team Trip in Phnom Penh – the central economic and political hub of Cambodia.
  • You might assist Destiny Rescue with current projects, such as painting, sorting sponsor packs for distribution, building, etc.
  • You’ll visit the children in our projects, play games and sports, and do crafts with them.
  • Observe and interact with girls as they make jeans and practice hairdressing.
  • Tour Angkor Wat, a temple complex at Angkor, built for King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century. (These partially reconstructed ruins were immortalized on the big screen by Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider Lara Croft!)

We spend one evening observing the confronting reality of a red light district—a section of the city lined with seedy bars, brothels, massage parlors, saunas, and hourly hotels—which is a popular tourist destination due to the sex industry and the surrounding nightlife.
