Tony’s Thoughts on 2015

A big welcome to 2015 from everyone here at Destiny Rescue!
We’re starting to get up-to-speed again after the Christmas break – it’s only summer in the Southern Hemisphere – as many of our international volunteers went home to be with family for Christmas/New Years.
That time of rest was vital for all our volunteers and staff in our project and funding nations – and with almost everyone back on the ground we are ready to go again!
There’s a real excitement within Destiny Rescue this year; our staff and volunteers can all feel it! We need that fervor too as new projects are launched and more girls are rescued!
The thing that continues to break my heart is that there are thousands and thousands of children desperate to be free from exploitation, but at the same time I am so excited that Destiny Rescue gets to bring that freedom to hundreds more children this year!
We’re really excited about our new project in the Dominican Republic and are praying for a smooth set-up so we can start rescuing as soon as possible. We’re also expecting big things in Laos this year too, so watch this space!
Although we didn’t reach our target of 800 rescues last year, we still managed to rescue 341 children, open a new rescue home in the Philippines, rescue our 1000th child, open two new funding offices in the United States and another one in New Zealand! So all-in-all, 2014 was a pretty good year!
Globally it ended on an encouraging note too, with leaders of the Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist and Jewish faiths coming together in December to sign a joint declaration to end slavery.
So let’s take the fight to the enemy again this year – as a united team!
I pray your passion for this cause is as strong as ever, and for those of you who donate or partner with us in another way: your support means the world to the children, and to us! I can’t say it enough – without you guys we simply couldn’t do what we do!
