I had been in Australia for a wedding, so I missed sharing my birthday with my salon girls. When I arrived back in Thailand, I was anxious to get back to the salon right away because I had missed them all. When I arrived at the salon, I found that it was closed. I had no idea why.
The girls were all hiding inside. When I opened the door they jumped out and yelled “surprise!” Balloons were everywhere. The girls had bought a cake, drinks, and snacks with their own money as a surprise for my birthday. The balloons read “We Love Tina” and “We Love You.”
The girls explained, through a translator, that they loved me very much and loved being at the Destiny Rescue salon. They had wanted to do something special as a thank you. Their act of love left me speechless and in tears.
These girls have come from so much hurt and pain, and have had so much taken from them. Now they freely give out of the love in their hearts.
You think, when you come here as a volunteer, that your purpose is to change lives and make a difference. But it’s the other way around. These girls end up changing your life.
