Our Story

Where we began and where we are going

Founded in 2001, Destiny Rescue’s story began with founder and international president Tony Kirwan.

Tony overheard about a man in Thailand who was once invited to have sex with children.

“When I heard this story it really hit me and I knew I had to do something,” Tony says. “It was at this point, I believe God put the vision of Destiny Rescue in my heart.”

Today, Destiny Rescue’s work has grown into a worldwide organisation dedicated to rescuing children from sexual exploitation and trafficking and helping them stay free. We serve to help amplify the voices of both those who are enslaved and have been freed from abuse.

I dream of a time when children can go to bed to sleep, not work.

Child Rescue’s mission is to rescue kids from sexual exploitation and human trafficking and to help them stay free.

We do this through funding rescue operations and reintegration programs. We activate resources in countries where the need to save is great. Because of our committed supporters, our rescue and reintegration staff are bringing freedom, hope and healing to children around the clock – day and night!

Child Rescue’s vision is to play a leading role in ending the sexual exploitation and trafficking of children in our lifetime.

We hold true to this vision and will continue to grow our programs, build strong partnerships, and fund work in new countries to extend freedom and hope to exploited children across the world.

Our Local Story

Founded in 2013 and based in Auckland, Child Rescue Charitable Trust and Child Rescue Charitable Aid Trust are registered New Zealand charities. We are dedicated to raising awareness, funds, expertise and support to make possible the international work of Destiny Rescue. We speak to groups of varying size to raise awareness and funds. Together, our speakers, staff, volunteers, church and business partners, and supporters fight tirelessly to bring the world one step closer to our vision.

Our International Story

Frontline staff such as rescue agents, border agents and social workers are on the ground in seven countries. They are involved in rescue, reintegration and prevention initiatives, helping free more than 12000 people since 2011. In the United States, Australia and New Zealand,  staff raise awareness and funds to fuel the mission. Tying both groups together is a shared passion for Jesus, which has blessed the work of our organisation since we started in 2001.

Destiny Rescue is a family of organisations working together towards the same mission and vision.

Offices across three funding nations raise crucial awareness and funds to make the work of Destiny Rescue International possible.
