This weekend Destiny Rescue celebrated an important, landmark event for the organization – the grand opening of our very first Destiny Salon! There was much to rejoice over, but perhaps the greatest victory was the new trade and new life that several girls can now officially begin.
The Bangkok Rescue Home is a place of laughter and tears, difficulties and triumphs, of courage and great convictions. It is a place where the determination and dedication of the staff sees lives restored daily, piece by piece, put back together, and made whole. It is a place of significance and love.
Children in the sex-trade often feel obligated to be there to protect and support their family or to pay off a debt. They are willing to give up everything for this. This was especially true for one of our already-rescued girls who was willing to give up the life she had made here to be sold a second time.

The statistics about India are shocking and incomprehensible to us living in the western world. For most of us, memories of being ten years old are filled with hopscotch, sports, Barbie dolls, and birthday parties. For so many adolescent girls growing up in India, their childhood is full of lies, sexual perversion, and entrapment.
At Destiny Rescue, we are building a Media Team to be the hands and feet of Jesus, as well as a voice for the voiceless. The need to help spread the message of rescue and restoration is great.
Meet Tuk, a 15 year old girl who knows intimately what it means to love selflessly. Tuk was born into extreme poverty. Not the kind of ‘poverty’ western kids might relate to where one has to wait a few weeks later than your friends to get the latest cell phone, but poverty so great you need to work to help feed your family and where school is a luxury that can’t be afforded.
Child trafficking is rife in Mozambique. Children are bought and sold like livestock. Boys and girls being used for the pleasure and profit of adult men. It is estimated that 70% of all trafficked children are used for prostitution.
What do can we do in the face of this sweeping contagion of childhood sexual slavery, this ugly giant, this destroyer of innocence and purity and light, this festering plague that is so much bigger than we are? We can give up, or we can get bigger!
The wages of sin are death. And nowhere is this more evident than on the faces of newly rescued girls. Expressionless, shut down, steeled into a death pose – closed against the pain of feeling.
