Frequently asked questions

How much of my child sponsorship money gets to the children?

Frequently asked questionsWe send 100% of child sponsorship funds overseas to help the children, families and communities within our programs. All administration costs are covered through fundraisers and other donations.

What sort of help does my sponsorship money give a child?

The way your sponsorship money helps a child is both many and varied, but the most common forms of help are the following: Food, schooling, multivitamins, medical assistance, clothing, vocational training, toilet installations etc. The main goal of child sponsorship is to eventually make the child and family self-sufficient so Destiny Rescue is constantly working towards making this happen.

Do we only help Christian families and children?

Frequently asked questionsNo, a person’s faith has no bearing on whether help is given.  In fact, we have children who are Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, Animists and Christians all within our programs.

Does a child have to become a Christian to continue to receive support?

No. Children are not required to become Christians to stay within the sponsorship program.  Destiny Rescue however, is a Christian organisation so does promote Christian values but present our faith as a lifestyle of action and compassion rather than just a belief.  Yes the children are given opportunity to become Christians but neither the children nor their families are under any compulsion to become Christians.

Would my sponsored child suffer if I were late in sending my sponsorship?

No, the reason for this is that all child sponsorship funds are pooled. This allows us to spread the funds over the children and families within the programs to ensure nobody is left hungry and greatest needs are being met. We would however appreciate you contacting our office if you know you will be late in your sponsorship so we are better able to plan.
