Children often end up trafficked or lured into the sex industry as a means of offsetting the severe poverty affecting their family. Destiny Rescue offers rescued children education, training and employment to ensure that they can escape the sex trade and still send money back to assist their parents.
The Production House facility in Chiang Rai has been successful in providing girls with the opportunity to work and learn making jewelry and sewing. These girls are employed on well above average wage where they are immediately able to work and produce quality goods and receive, counseling, on the job training and up skilling for their future. The ongoing rescue process though has filled the current production house to capacity and there is a pressing need for a newer and larger facility.
The new planned production house will be a 3 storey building with 300m2 per floor. The first 2 floors will be open plan production area allowing room for an additional 100+ girls to be employed leaving the top floor as a dedicated accommodation wing.
Construction of the new production house will continue to build self-sustainability into the Thailand project and allow a greater number of rescued girls to be assisted.
